About Camilla Norrback
THE DESIGNER
The company and brand Camilla Norrback was founded in 1999 by the Finnish designer Camilla Norrback. She was born in 1974 in Jakobstad, where she also grew up. Since 1994 she is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Originally Camilla Norrback is educated as a millenary but moved on to study more general fashion subjects such as pattern construction and accessories design before starting her own brand.
THE DESIGN
The design of Camilla Norrback is based on classic garments that change with each season according to new themes. Inspiration for the collections is gathered from films, music, social currents and not least – fabrics. High attention to details has also always been a trademark for Camilla Norrback.
Since 2002 Camilla Norrback has been committed to creating ecologically sustainable garments whilst striving to maintain artistic freedom as a designer. In 2005 as a commitment to never compromise the quality of her garments she has coined the phrase 'Ecoluxury'.

ECOLUXURY – OUR PHILOSOPHY
Modern luxury is as much about the inside as it is about the outside, glamorous superficiality replaced by giving yourself what is good for both body and conscience. The chemical-focused textile industry of today do not only expends the environment, it also creates garments that are in fact harmful for the wearer's skin and contributes to an outdated and unsustainable society.
As a total contrast to the current dispensable mentality Camilla Norrback has chosen to produce the major part of the garments in ecological or environment-certified natural materials. For a fabric to be labelled ecological it must be environment-friendly produced in every step – cultivation, processing and colouring. The methods employed are chosen to affect the environment as little as possible, using natural alternatives to toxins and chemicals. Environment-certified fabrics are processed and coloured in an environment-friendly way, making sure that pigments aren't released into the groundwater and that the finished fabric contains no toxins or heavy metals that are harmful for the future wearer of the garments.
Today, environment-friendly technology for producing fabrics has evolved far enough not to compromise a designer's artistic freedom. On the contrary there is a multitude of possibilities – today even a polyester fabric can be environmentally certified.
Sustainable garments are not only about the fabrics and processes but also about the design. Camilla Norrbacks' designs are shaped to last a lifetime.
